Intake systems for aquaculture facilities are extremely important. They are the source of new water upon which most facilities depend on. However, if not designed properly they can be the conduit by which pathogens and disease enter and decimate a hatchery?s crop. Most hatcheries are either fed from surface water; a lake, river or stream or with ground water from a well or artesian source.
All these sources can be highly variable in quality and heavily dependent on seasonal influences. Design the system to meet the application requirements.
